ORGANIZATION AND BOARD

Organization and board

The Botanical Garden is part of Lund University. Together with the Museum of Artistic Process and Public Art, the Historical Museum and the Music Centre Odeum, we constitute Lund University's cultural and museum activities.

Due to its unique environment, the garden is an attractive meeting place for both those who are curious to know more about plants and those seeking recreation.

Our mission rests on three legs. We participate in research and teaching, bring on knowledge about botany and horticulture to the public, and help preserve the genetic diversity of species that are endangered in nature.

The botanical garden is managed by a board appointed by the Vice Chancellor. It includes a Chair and 6–8 members. One member is the garden director, entitled Horti Praefectus, at least 2 represent Lund University and at least 2 are external. In addition, students have the right to be represented by 2 members. The board has the overall responsibility for the operation.
